Hanner’s Gone

Ken Hanner, 57, is out as national editor of the Washington Times, FishbowlDC has learned. He spent 26 years at the paper.

No replacement has been named and it is likely that this is the beginning of a larger restructuring at the paper that will result in additional layoffs (a handful of clerks and librarians were recently let go, too).

Indeed, Hanner’s position may not be filled. Executive Editor John Solomon has done/is hoping to do some interesting restructuring at the paper, such as splitting off the investigative team, moving the national security team off the National desk and creating an AME/Politics.

More to come for sure…
