From their Friday Feature…finally, someone digs Pearl Jam.
Griff Jenkins joined FNC in Aug. ’03 as Tony Snow’s radio producer. He’s now a Fox News Talk contributing reporter for various radio shows but also appears on “Big Story” and “Fox & Friends.” Previously, Jenkins was a freelancer for FNC, serving as an embedded cameraman during Operation Iraqi Freedom. But today he’s our Friday Feature:
Where’s your hometown? What was it like growing up there?
Memphis — it was GREAT. Growing up in a sleepy southern town was fun and one of our neighbors was the founder of Memphis’ famous Rendezvous ribs. In homage to my hometown, my Jack Russell’s name is Elvis!
What was your first job?
First job was in a pet shop. I used to entertain little kids by swallowing live goldfish and walking around with a Parrot on my shoulder. (Please don’t tell PETA!)
What’s your most embarrassing on-the-job moment? (Or as embarrassing as you’d like to reveal?)
Falling asleep during a rocket attack in Iraq. I was Ollie North’s cameraman during the invasion of 2003, and we were barely sleeping at all. When I finally had an opportunity to catch a few hours, I was out so cold that when the first incoming rocket hit, I didn’t even wake up. A Marine Major found North taking cover by a Humvee and asked, “Where’s Jenkins?” They found me lights-out in my sleeping bag on the ground about 500 yards from where the thing hit. …
If you could go to any live concert tonight, which one would it be?
Pearl Jam — hands down! But I suppose if Britney Spears had a show tonight, I’d go just to see if she had a meltdown or lit her hair on fire or something…
