Journopalooza III Adds Strip Club Twist to Show

Journopalooza III, the annual battle of the bands contest amongst D.C. journos on January 21, is adding a new twist to this year’s show. And it’s feeling a tad strip clubish.

“Choosing “DC’s best media band” will be charitably un-democratic since fans will “buy votes” by throwing money at their favorite performers,” the event’s organizer Christina Davidson told FishbowlDC. “We’ll accept US dollars, foreign currency, traveler’s checks, and gold doubloons.”

Davidson said she hopes Suspicious Package band member Tim Burger might get the wrong idea. “Yeah, if we’re lucky, Burger will get confused and start taking off his clothes,” she said.

Tickets go on sale today… General admission is $25 and $30 at the National Press Club door. Visit here. Proceeds go to charity. The evening will be hosted by DC’s Funniest Journalists, co-winners of Commedia dell Media II, Military.com’s Jamie McIntyre and Fox Business Network’s Rich Edson. Flying Dog beer will flow from five cash bars after doors open at 7.
