Kurtz Plays Attribution Police. Then Breaks Law.

The Daily Beast Washington Bureau Chief Howard Kurtz says it’s “so easy to give credit.” He writes on Twitter: “WP apologizes for lifting material from Arizona Republic.I’ve written on theft many times — so easy to give credit.”

True.  It is “so easy” to give credit.

But on Monday at 4:05 p.m., Kurtz failed to give HuffPost credit for their Sen. Bayh scoop earlier in the day at 3:17 p.m.. “Evan Bayh joining Fox as a contributor. Good for the network to have a prominent Democrat, even a moderate one…” Kurtz wrote. He must have missed the “exclusive,” which, unfortunately for Huffpost, now has a Tuesday time stamp that shifted when they updated it.
