The Chronicle of Higher Education, one of Washington’s biggest publications, is suffering from many of the same ailments troubling lots of print subscription publications. At least eight people (five in editorial positions) have been laid off or had their jobs eliminated. Of the 8, 6 are women, and several of them are older or senior level, while both of the men are relatively junior.
