Mark Leibovich is leaving the Washington Post and heading to the New York Times. Word on the street has it that he may be taking over Elisabeth Bumiller’s White House Letter when she takes a book leave.

>UPDATE: Leibovich tells us that he won’t be taking over Bumiller’s column. He says that the details of his NYT gig are still hazy, but that much of his work would parallel his reporting at the Post, with perhaps more political profils and features.
