From a tipster:
National Geographic Magazine (winner of last years magazine of year…editor of the year…etc), has laid off 13 staff members at its DC headquarters. The lay offs began yesterday afternoon and were completed this morning. By years end, Society wide (magazine being under that umbrella), they expect 5 to 10 percent of the staff to have been laid off.
