New Producer Joins C-SPAN
From the release:
C-SPAN announced today that Cleve Corner joined the network as a producer with Book TV, C-SPAN’s non-commercial weekend programming focused on non-fiction books and authors that airs on its companion network, C-SPAN2. Previously, Corner was the event coordinator for nearly six years at Politics & Prose, one of the Washington, D.C. area’s premier independent bookstores, where he was responsible for directing and promoting the store’s author series with today’s most prominent non-fiction and fiction writers.
“We’re pleased that Cleve is on board at Book TV,” said Connie Doebele, executive producer for Book TV. “His experience selecting books and writers that represent multiple viewpoints combined with his contacts and knowledge of the publishing industry complement the Book TV production team. Cleve’s familiarity with Book TV’s audience and our commitment to non-fiction programming, through C-SPAN’s coverage of events at Politics & Prose, are an added bonus.”
At Book TV, Corner is responsible for producing events with authors who write about history, which brings added perspective to C-SPAN’s current events coverage. He’ll also co-produce Book TV’s signature programs, such as In Depth, the live, monthly interview and call-in show featuring a noted author and their body of work, and After Words, the weekly program that pairs an author and guest interviewer who are connected by a common theme.
Corner is a native of Pittsburgh and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.
