NEWSFLASH: Washington Times May Not Be Respectable

The Southern Poverty Law Center today decided to out the Washington Times as a less-than-mainstream newspaper. It turns that some of its writers might, perhaps, possess views outside the norm (unlike, of course, it’s very mainstream owner: Rev. Moon’s Unification Church).

The SPLC’s detailed report focuses partially on the white supremacist writings of Marian Kester Coombs, wife of WT Managing Editor Francis Booth Coombs. The Times has published at least 35 articles and op-eds–including republishing some supremacist journals–without any note about her special ties to the paper.

With the SPLC’s new report, with Talon News in disarray, and with today’s news that the new right-wing Examiner also appears to be racially skewed, you sort of have to wonder where you have to go to get solid, unbiased right-wing news?
