Not Your Ordinary Sunday
A bizarre day in the Sunday shows, but since we try to feed your ratings frenzy every week, here’s the report:
Thanks to scheduling quirks like the French Open and various telethons, the Sunday talk shows were preempted in many markets around the country, which created a twilight zone of ratings.
ABC, anchored by Daddy Stephanopoulos, actually won the race this week (2.6/7) and “Face the Nation” came in second with 2.4/6.
“Meet the Press,” hampered by tennis, limped into third place with a 2.1/8, although if you believe Arianna, you didn’t miss much.
Fox, the only network without major scheduling problems, still finished last with 1.4/4.
ABC came out back on top in D.C., with a 2.1/6 and Fox posted a 1.7/4.
