Post Hires Capehart, Mallaby Out

From the release:

We’re pleased to announce that Jonathan Capehart will join our editorial board next month.

Jonathan has been a national affairs columnist for Bloomberg News, a policy adviser to Michael Bloomberg’s New York mayoral campaign and a deputy editorial page editor at The Daily News. As an editorial writer at the News, he earned a Pulitzer Prize in 1999. Most recently, he was a senior vice president and senior counselor for public affairs at Hill & Knowlton. He grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Carleton College.

Meanwhile, Sebastian Mallaby, who joined the board in 1999, has decided to leave The Post to resume his book-writing career and assume a senior position at the Council on Foreign Relations here in Washington. We have been exceptionally fortunate to have had as a colleague and a contributor someone of Sebastian’s immense intelligence, talent, good sense and good cheer these past eight years. His departure leaves us with the need for an editorial writer with a strong background in economics, trade, business and related subjects and the ability to write engagingly about them.
