Weiner Makes Second Pants Joke on C-SPAN

Yesterday we reminded you that in October 2009 Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) joked with C-SPAN Host Paul Orgel about whether or not Orgel wears pants on the morning program – he does.

As it so happens, Weiner made a similar joke in December 2010 to a different C-SPAN host, Peter Slen, announcing on the program once again how much he loves being on C-SPAN. An informed Weiner then declared to viewers that Slen indeed wears pants. We’re sure Slen appreciated that as well as his keen [insert pants joke] with [insert C-SPAN host] approach. “I always wondered by the way whether Peter actually wears pants this early in the morning,” the congressman said. “I want to confirm for America that indeed he does.”

Weiner Once Asked C-SPAN Host if He Wears Pants

The morning of October 22, 2009 was the great foreshadowing.

This was the day that Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) wondered if the host of C-SPAN was wearing pants. Gaspworthy? Maybe. But this is typical Weiner banter. His humor is off-beat, unexpected, and some might say brash.

The host thanked him for being on the show. Weiner replied, “Thank you. It’s always a pleasure. I love Washington Journal,” he mused to Paul Orgel. But then he came out with it: “I always wonder, as you host, if you’re wearing any pants under there.”

At the time, a New York Daily News blog posted it on their blog. Read here.
