The No-Longer Secret Man
Editor’s Note: Apologies for the radio silence yesterday. Travel and Comcast’s unreliability ended up taking Fishbowl offline for the entire day. Watch for some frenetic posting today.
You can debate whether the Post got “scooped” on the original announcement of Deep Throat, but they definitely did yesterday.
In the only must-read since Bob Woodward’s original tell-all some piece, USA Today’s Mark Memmott obtained a copy of the forthcoming “The Secret Man” and spills all the secrets:
- Felt did smoke during the meetings.
- The meetings took place in the parking garage of 1401 Wilson Blvd. in Rosslyn near column 32D. This revelation killed our theory, posited as recently as Sunday brunch, that the garage was the Key Bridge Marriott.
- Felt almost confessed during a grand jury investigation in 1976.
- Woodward suspected someone from the Post was leaking back to the White House about who the sources were.
N.B. If you don’t know who “Felt” is at this point or to what this post refers, please come out of your secure and undisclosed location more often.
