The Publicist Formally Known as “Conant”

CNN's Meryl Conant with Megan Grant

Meryl Conant, a senior publicist for CNN Washington is making some changes.  Last year Conant followed her blonde ambition back to school and has been pulling double duty as a CNN staffer and student ever since.  But it seems one semester of two full-time responsibilities was enough for the petite publicist.  Meryl announced that this will be her final week at CNN in an email this afternoon.  In addition, she advised friends and colleagues to be on the lookout for her married name as she plans to use “Governski” going forward…

Though we stand by our opinion that “Conant” is more marketable, we wish Meryl, in all her Governski glory, lots of luck in the next chapter of her life!

Conant’s farewell after the jump.

Dear friends/ colleagues/ reporters,

I am writing to let you all know this week is my last at CNN. It has been an incredible couple years and I am leaving with both sadness and excitement for my next chapter. Please keep in touch- I won’t be far away! However, I now will be using my married name professionally, so if you see Meryl Governski pop up in your inbox, please don’t delete it! Meanwhile- Megan, Edie and Jen will still be your contacts for CNN PR-related items!

Thanks again,

Meryl Conant Governski
