WaPo Associate Editor Kevin Merida sent a note to newsroom staff on Saturday announcing the news of Anne Kornblut‘s baby boy, Arlo. Welcome to the Fishbowl, Arlo! Congratulations to Kornblut and husband, Jon Cohen, who says that the mother and baby are “perfect.”

Dear Colleagues, we have a new baby in our newsroom family. Anne Kornblut
and Jon Cohen are the proud parents of Baby Arlo. Woo-hoo!

Here is the note daddy sent:

It is with great joy that we welcome baby Arlo Cohen. He arrived at 4:38
p.m. Friday, May 20th, at Sibley Hospital in Washington, D.C. He has a full
head of hair, and checked in at a burly 7 lbs, 8 oz. Anne and Arlo are
perfect.

Arlo Levi Kornblut Cohen is named for both sides of our family – Arlo for
Anne’s late father, Arthur, and Levi for Jon’s maternal grandparents, the
Levys.

We look forward to introducing all of you to him in the days ahead.
