Washington Life Says: We’re Full Of Life
So remember when we wondered which Washington “luxury publication” posted some job postings on mediabistro.com’s job board?
Well, survey says: It’s Washington Life. But Executive Editor Michael Clements (just promoted from managing editor last week) tells FishbowlDC that the job postings shouldn’t suggest that the mag is doing poorly. In fact, quite the opposite, he says:
Over the past year, the magazine has increased from 9 issues to 10, moved up in average page count from 84 to between 132 and 160 pages. We had our largest issue ever in Sept at 180 pages. And ad revenue increased 5 fold. We’re currently looking for a senior or managing editor to help with that growth. Things look good.
He adds:
It’s been a pretty incredible year. Washington is such a fascinating mix of politics, media, society and arts, and Washington Life has allowed me to be dropped in the mix of it all. We’re all looking to take the magazine to the next level in 2007.
