Welcome to the Superbureau

Today marks the beginning of a new era for the Tribune papers in Washington: The Superbureau has arrived. Now all of the company papers, from the Chicago flagship to the Baltimore Sun, Newsday, the LA Times, and even the ever-smaller Hartford Courant bureau will be united with company’s broadcast operations in the renovated Woodey’s Building on F Street near Metro Center.

We’re sure to have lots of great stories in the days ahead as a bunch of people who aren’t prone to playing well together start playing together.

This week’s big debate? Who was going to pay for the towels in the gym — broadcast or print?

And then of course there are the people walking around with measuring tapes to ensure that their desk space is the same size as others….
