What’s Up Weisman?

All Posties can do lately is talk about the latest rumor: That Jonathan Weisman — who left the Washington Post for the WSJ this month — was considering returning to his old paper.

What sparked all of this? Namely: That Weisman asked to meet with the Post’s national editor, Rajiv Chandrasekaran, at Caribou Coffee, and that the Wall Street Journal canned a planned front page story by Weisman.

Weisman told Politico’s Michael Calderone that the rumors were “dead wrong” and that the coffee was purely social, but Posties tell FishbowlDC that they’re not buying the denial.

“The rumors are absolutely true,” one Postie tells us. “He’s running through a couple of bumps in his new place.”

Still, from both Weisman’s own statement on the matter and what Posties themselves are guessing, Weisman isn’t likely to actually make the switch back.
