FishbowlDC caught up with Project Runway’s Tim Gunn at Tyson’s Galleria over the weekend. Gunn was in Washington for ALL ACCESS: Fashion Day to benefit YouthAIDS, an education and prevention program of PSI that uses media, pop culture, music, theatre and sports to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS.
Though we only got a few minutes with Tim, we “made it work.”
Who is the most stylish person in news media?
I’ll go with Diane Sawyer. She understands what she looks good in. She’s fashionable. Her clothes don’t speak before she does. She understands the power of her voice [I mean that literally and metaphorically] and there is a subtlety to the way she presents herself — both hair and makeup. I take her seriously and I find her captivating. I’m a big fan.
Where do you get your news?
The New York Times, of course. AOL — when I’m signing on to my email , the Wall Street Journal and Women’s Wear Daily.
Do you have a favorite news media personality?
I’m a big fan of Anderson Cooper. Though I probably think of him more as a friend first. He’s certainly stylish — always in Prada.
You and Anderson share a “silver fox status.” I think you were both ranked as top 5 in America.
Well, that’s very flattering but I think someone is a little cuckoo.
