Women’s Media Group Sends Letter to WaPo to Protest a Certain “Mouthpiece Theater”

The video’s down, apologies have been sent out via Twitter, but some are still not pleased with WaPo‘s Dana Milbank and Chris Cillizza, after a certain “Mouthpiece Theater.”

Members of Women, Action & the Media sent a letter to WaPo executive editor Marcus Brauchli asking “what corrective action the Post intends to take” for the “Mad Bitch” beer comment. A comment they call “patently sexist” and “otherwise tasteless.”

Signers include Women’s Media Center President Carol Jenkins, The Nation columnist Katha Pollitt, media commentator and Bennett College President Julianne Malveaux and media critic Jennifer Pozner of Women in Media & News, among others.

The letter closes with an offer for a beer summit of their own, but the women’s group says, “we’ll choose the brews, thanks.”
