A Quick Detour Through Another Part of the Animal Kingdom

So I received two photo submissions of pets besides dogs: Lovey is one of two pet chickens owned by Susan Thomsen, the editor of the children’s book blog Chicken Spaghetti. “Although she doesn’t see very well because of all those feathers on her head,” Thomsen says of her White Crested Black Polish hen, “Lovey will come when you call her.” And literary agent Ginger Clark sent a picture of Elmo, “the oldest and most intelligent” of the three chinchillas she and her husband have adopted. “She and Peanut and Raisin (a pair of sisters) have been known to chew manuscripts and proposals that I’m in the midst of reading,” Clark emails. ” I’m not sure if that’s an indication that they want me to reject the work, or if the work is delicious and therefore I should represent it.”
