Amazon Writes Big Check to Lambda Literary Foundation

The Lambda Literary Foundation announced today that it has received a grant of $25,000 from Amazon.com.

Lambda, a non-profit organization for the LGBT literary community, will use the grant to support its Writer’s Retreat for Emerging LGBT Voices, in August. The retreat’s faculty includes Nicola Griffith, Ellery Washington, and Ellen Bass.

From the release: “Amazon.com’s $25,000 grant is one of the most significant gifts to LLF in recent years and signals a new era of recognition for the mission and programs of Lambda Literary Foundation. The grant will permit LLF to expand its outreach and enable more talented emerging writers to participate through scholarship funds.”
