Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Hottie of Memoirville
We hear that the August issue of Hustler is going to name the world’s twenty “most beautiful” women, and Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the former member of the Dutch parliament who recently published the memoir Infidel, just made it onto the list—the only author to do so, unless you count Jenna Jameson and Pamela Anderson (which, for the purposes of this discussion, I don’t). Some observers might find her inclusion a bit unusual—as far as apostate feminist Muslims go, Ali’s cute, but have you seen Irshad Manji?—but at least one real author made the grade. Although I can’t help thinking that there were a lot more “book hot” candidates who could’ve turned up on that list. Which is why we’re asking you:
