After Keith Kelly broke the story on Sherry Lansing's memoir deal in Friday's NY Post, Hollywood journalist Nikki Finke tracked Lansing down on the phone and got some inside info on the project. "I am going to be scrupulously honest," Finke quotes Lansing, the former head of Fox and Paramount. "Because there's no point doing it, otherwise. Also, all of the money I receive from the book is going to cancer research." Finke remains skeptical that the book will really tell "the unvarnished truth about all the rat bastards at Fox and Paramount and elsewhere," a sentiment echoed in a minor key by Variety's Stephen Zeitchik, who describes Lansing as "a very private person," adding, "[F]riends doubt she would be forthcoming when it comes to intimate details of her private life."
