Book Deal for American Idol History

dontfollow.jpgOur Hollywood blog sibling FishbowlLA reports that author and former Gawker editor Richard Rushfield just landed a book deal with Hyperion–writing about American Idol.

The working title is: “American Idol: The Last Empire.” Most recently, he published the memoir, Don’t Follow Me, I’m Lost: A memoir of the Twilight of the 80s.

Here’s more from the post: “‘[It covers] the history and the world of American Idol,’ Rushfield tells FBLA. ‘How it created an empire, a phenomenon and how its maintained it…and the whole universe that swirls around the show.’”
