If you're looking for action on the literary schmoozing circuit, I suggest you get to Beauty Bar (a few blocks east of Union Square on 14th) around 9 p.m. tonight, as Congolese author Alain Mabanckou, will be heading over there as soon as he's done taking part in an all-star Town Hall reading which, among its other charming aspects, brings Neil Gaiman and Nadine Gordimer onto the same stage for the first time. The party's co-sponsored by Soft Skull, which publishes Mabanckou's novel, African Psycho, as well as Guantanamo by Dorothea Dieckmann, whose first World Voices event will come Thursday evening.
