Bridges Wins Cave Canem Poetry Prize

The Cave Canem Poetry Prize for “exceptional manuscripts by African American poets who have not been professionally published” has been awarded to Constance Quarterman Bridges and her collection Lions Don’t Eat Us. The poems will be published by Graywolf Press next September. In the meantime, you can read “Plowing,” from the Summer 2002 issue of African American Review. And the Oxford University Press blog has just added “Gordian Knot,” which appears in the Oxford Anthology of African-American Poetry.
