Gabo Is Coming!: Or, Latin American Literature's Biggest Day EVEROprah Winfrey's latest book club pick turned out just as a GalleyCat reader predicted: Love in the Time of Cholera, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, described on the Oprah website as "a love triangle unlike any other." Forget the Nobel; this is going to win more people over to magical realism than ever before. Well, except maybe the time she picked his other book, One Hundred Years of Solitude; Marquez is one of just four authors who have been doubly blessed by Winfrey's interest in this fashion, after Toni Morrison, Wally Lamb, and Jane Hamilton. And New Line, which is releasing the film version of Cholera next month, must be beside themselves with delight anticipating the opening weekend numbers.
