Comedians Deconstruct the Sunday Book Review
“The book review. The other, longer book review.”
That’s a Michael Showalter-directed promo for the newest 92nd Street Y in Tribeca. It’s a collection of comedians reminding us how nobody reads the newspaper anymore while poking fun at NY Times subscription ads.
This New York City institution has curated countless literary readings over the years. The new 92nd Street Y already has a series of literary events coming up: a love-letter writing workshop with Rachel Kramer Bussel and a Heeb Magazine storytelling night. Showalter is the comedy writer and director who wrote Wet Hot American Summer.
