By Suzetta Perkins, Deja Vu follows the story of Angelica Barnes, a convicted felon, as she attempts to escape her sordid past. Having been released from a five year stint in prison, Angelica is eager to turn her life around and seeks forgiveness from the person she hurt the most: her best friend, Margo. When she is offered a modeling job in New York, however, she leaves North Carolina without a second glance. Unfortunately, Angelica’s big break turns out to be a dud and she is, once again, forced to dance for a living. When her boyfriend Santiago, the one responsible for her prison record, finds her and forces himself back into her life, what is Angelica to do?

Suzetta Perkins is the author of Ex-Terminator: Life After Marriage, A Love So Deep, and Behind The Veil, the precursor to Deja Vu. Perkins is also a contributing author to the anthology My Soul to His Spirit, featured in Ebony magazine’s June 2005 issue. Perkins is co-founder and president of the Sistahs Book Club in Fayettesville, North Carolina and Secretary to her alma mater, University at Fayettesville State University.
