Dog Days 2008: Who Doesn’t Love a Bookstore Dog?

dogdays08-hamlet.jpg

“While vacationing in Breckenridge, Colorado, over the Fourth of July weekend, I stopped by a quaint little bookstore in town called Hamlet’s Bookshoppe,” emails publicist Amber Childres. “One of the employees had her dog tied up near the door to greet customers. I snapped this photo while checking out at the counter. Notice the copy of Publisher’s Weekly right by the pup’s chin. (I say ‘pup’ because the dog’s owner swore to me he was just 8 months old, despite his size!)”

So, um, I don’t actually know this dog’s name, but for the purposes of the poll, we’re going to call him “Hamlet.” Unless somebody at the shop sees this and sets us straight, I guess. (Update: Childres wrote back this morning, remembering the dog’s name is Bailey.)
