Emperor Franzen Comes Face-to-Face with Jonathan Franzen

At the Jonathan Franzen reading at Barnes & Noble last night, we snapped this exclusive picture of the satirical Twitter writer, Emperor Franzen–wearing his cloak of mystery.

The emperor tweeted during the event: “In my cloak, in the front row at Franzen reading. Stop by and say hi!” Later, he posted: “Franzen stared me down; I got nervous. All I could say was, ‘I’m wearing a cloak.’ Franzen: ‘I know. It’s terrific.’”

Read more about the satirical Twitter feed in this post. Later today, this GalleyCat correspondent will interview the Twitter monarch, revealing his secret identity of the writer who created Emperor Franzen. Stay tuned…
