Emperor Franzen Comes Face-to-Face with Jonathan Franzen

At the Jonathan Franzen reading at Barnes & Noble last night, we snapped this exclusive picture of the satirical Twitter writer, Emperor Franzen–wearing his cloak of mystery.

The emperor tweeted during the event: “In my cloak, in the front row at Franzen reading. Stop by and say hi!” Later, he posted: “Franzen stared me down; I got nervous. All I could say was, ‘I’m wearing a cloak.’ Franzen: ‘I know. It’s terrific.’”
