A touching memoir by author, Helene Cooper is my Featured “Book of Color” Pick of the Day. The House at Sugar Beach shares Cooper’s life of success and tragedy as she went from living in a twenty-two-room mansion at Sugar Beach to having her family hunted down in a Liberian coup d’etat.

A completely fascinating read written by a woman of color who also happens to be a White House correspondent. She’s a woman that didn’t allow the tragedy in her life slow her down from finding her passion in life, journalism.
