FishbowlLA: Make-A-Wish Rallies Behind Teen Poet

Max and audience.jpg

Tina Dupuy, the co-editor of mediabistro.com’s FishbowlLA blog, reminds us of the site’s partnership with the Make-A-Wish foundation with a story about Max Ritvo, a 17-year-old writer undergoing treatment for Ewing’s Sarcoma. Apparently part of his wish involved reading his poetry at a Los Angeles Borders, and he would also like to see his work published. The local Fox affiliate has more about Ritvo’s goal.

Ritvo isn’t the only young author being assisted by the Make-A-Wish foundation; two months ago, we told you about Stephen Beirne‘s November Reign, a fantasy novel that was delivered to an Ohio bookstore thanks to the volunteer efforts of nearly two dozen publishing industry professionals.
