Former Book Columnist Joins Bloggers

Speaking as the former ArtsJournal book guy (until I took this gig), I’m delighted to see former Dallas Morning News book critic Jerome Weeks has launched a new blog for the cultural commentary site called book/daddy. Speaking of his acceptance of a buy-out from the paper, Weeks says “it’s just that a lot of the fun and the smarts had left the field.”

“So that’s what I hope to do here. Not replace my newspaper work. Just return to the original motivating pleasures. To a level of discourse, lively inquiry and irreverent humor.”

So far, so good…you might want to keep an eye on this one.
