Haruki Murakami Novel Stars in Men’s Health China Spread

q84.jpgAccording to Chinese media blog Danwei, the August issue of Men’s Health China contained a photo spread adapting the plot of Haruki Murakami‘s novel, 1Q84.

The novel rocketed up the bestseller list in Japan, but English-speaking readers won’t be able to read the novel until September 2011. The Moko blog has more pictures from the photo spread. Warning: The spread apparently contains many spoilers about the novel, so view at your own risk. Thanks to Jeff Koyen for sharing the link.

Here’s more from Danwei: “[The] August issue came with a photographic version of the 1Q84 story — with fashion models and singers posing as the central characters … This version is a massive plot spoiler and most of the scenes are acted out with high drama. Obviously there are differences, the most obvious one being that this version accentuates the fashion angle.” (Image via)
