Hi-Ho, the Glamour-ous Life!

Jane Smiley and Laura Hillenbrand will be among the literary judges for an essay contest sponsored by Glamour on the theme of “My Great Real Life Story.” In addition to a $5,000 cash prize and possible publication in a future issue of Glamour, the winner will also get flown out to New York and quite possibly meet with literary agent Betsy Lerner to discuss whether or not her 2,500-3,500 word story has enough “original style and compelling story” to make a book. And, one assumes, whether it really is her great real life story—say, maybe this could be the perfect way for Laura Albert to break her media silence and reach out to a whole new audience!
