Highlights of the Beijing Book Fair

China Economic Net posts a somewhat belated (and rather dry) report of the most recent Beijing Book Fair, held just before Labor Day Weekend. In 1986, when the first BIBF was held, there were only 228 exhibition participators, including 165 foreign participators. Now there are over 1200 foreign exhibition participators coming to the 13th BIBF. Bottom line? It’s an exponentially growing market, somewhat in trade publishing but especially with regards to textbooks. Which means that BIBF number 14 will only see more exhibitors showing up to peddle their wares…
