Interview with NYPL Young Lions Award Winner Salvatore Scibona
Last night novelist Salvatore Scibona won the $10,000 New York Public Library Young Lions Fiction Award for his novel, “The End.”
GalleyCat caught up with the young novelist for a video interview, getting his take on how indie publishers like Graywolf Press will survive the recession. Scibona also introduced Jessica Francis Kane, Graywolf’s newest writer–four days after she sold her new novel.
The awards were hosted by actor Ethan Hawke. During the proceedings, actors Zoe Kazan and Billy Crudup joined him on stage to read excerpts from books by the five finalists.
