Jonathan Franzen in Vogue Magazine; Literary Internet Responds

Yesterday Time magazine generated some online headlines for putting novelist Jonathan Franzen on the cover–the first author to grace the cover in a decade. Today we have another glossy magazine profile and Franzen image for you.
Vogue ran a feature profile of the novelist, along with that Jeff Lipsky photo. Here’s an excerpt: “‘I like the fact that novels in other languages are called some version of romance,’ says Jonathan Franzen, sitting at the antique wood dining table of his book-filled Upper East Side apartment.”
Omnivoracious spotted a huge list of other writers who have graced the cover ofTime over the years. And finally, Sarah Weinman points us toward Jonathan Franzen Cover Story Mad Lib.

These days, writers aren’t just writers: They’re social-media mavens, seasoned public speakers, and one-person publicity machines. And they still have to find time to write their books!
