Keep Your Eye on the Observer‘s Book Guy

If you aren’t keeping an eye out for Leon Neyfakh‘s byline in the New York Observer, you should be; he’s quickly emerging as one of the local media’s sharpest observers of the publishing industry. Last Friday alone, he had items on a new book deal for industry pundit Albert Greco and James Atlas‘s attempt to brand his revamped book line. And that was just a day after he reported on Michael Beschloss‘s move from Simon & Schuster to Crown.

Everybody I’ve been talking to in the biz over the last couple weeks about Neyfakh’s stories has nothing but praise for him, and rightly so. If you care about the business, he’s made the Media Mob RSS feed an essential edition to your blog checklist.
