Latina Author Uses Theater Festival to Promote Novel

Latina author, Linda Nieves Powell (Freestyle) has thought of a unique way to promote her author brand. Created by Jenny Saldana and Antonia Marrero, she became the Executive Producer of the Ultimate Latina Theater Festival and created another avenue to promote her novel. She managed to land sponsorship from MiApogeo.com and rather than focus only on traditional author publicity or book promotions (ie: bookmarks and blog tours), Nieves-Powell has used her growing platform of fans who come to her theater festival as a way to grow her author brand, increase her exposure and drive book sales.
In her recent play, Sexy Shakespeare, award-winning playwright, Nieves-Powell created a medley of Shakespeare pieces infusing modern quips and Latina attitude in with the characters Shakespeare lovers have grown to love. The result? The audience was in stitches throughout the entire show.
No stranger to hard work, Nieves-Powell has spent the better part of her career as a playwright and theater company owner (Latino Flavored Productions) garnering over a million dollars in revenue the last 5 years. She has funneled her tenacity and creativity in building her brand as an author who happens to be Latina.
