Lesson 1: Product Placement, Not Concealment!
An update to that earlier item about product placement in comic books, as The Beat steers us towards a revelation about that Nike swoosh in New X-Men. At left is a bit of the image that accompanied the WSJ article, at right the image as it appeared in the comic that was released to the stores:

Of course, the most likely explanation is that Marvel simply suppled the Journal with unlettered artwork, and Nike logos do appear elsewhere in that same issue, but I can easily imagine the memo that’s going to circulate to comic-book letterers…
