Columbia Journalism Review Launches Book Review
Page Views opened its doors with a long interview with film critic David Denby, looking at his new book, Snark: It's Mean, It's Personal, and It's Ruining Our Conversation. The interview talks about the quality of Internet journalism, comparing literary blogger Edward Champion's coverage of Denby's book to Gawker's coverage. In the comments section, editor James Marcus explained the site's goals: "For the moment, Page Views will probably be less bloggy than some of the other sites you mention. Which is to say that we'll be concentrating more on reviews, interviews, and reportage, and less on quick notations of literary events and the latest tempest in the publishing teapot. But we are eager to bring visitors into the conversation." Email This Post |
