Yet Another Panel Discussion on Book ReviewsThe Authors Guild Foundation is adding to the clutter of discussion about the so-called book review crisis, but at least they're framing it as a question: "Book Reviews: In Print, Online, and in Decline?" takes place at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Scandinavia House (58 Park Avenue). And not only does the lineup include major players like NYTBR editor Sam Tanenhaus and Publishers Weekly editor-in-chief Sara Nelson, the Guild also invited two members of the NBCC's blogging committee, Jane Ciabattari and Lizzie Skurnick—the latter of whom was tapped as one of the web's best book bloggers by Forbes for her work at The Old Hag. Roy Blount, Jr. will no doubt keep the conversation civil and entertaining; if I wasn't pulling jury duty in the outer boroughs this week, I'd probably drop in and see. Email This Post |
