Litblogosphere Creates A New YA Prize

cybil-medal.jpgEarlier this week, the Lit Blog Co-Op recently announced its latest “Read This!” selection: Sam Savage’s Firmin. But why should literary bookbloggers have all the award-distributing fun?* So a group of bloggers who focus on YA and children’s literature have gotten together to create the Cybils, and are inviting the public to submit nominations in seven different categories between now and Nov. 20th, at which point they’ll start sorting through the suggested titles. Bloggers participating include the creators of BookBuds, A Fuse #8 Production, and Chicken Spaghetti.

*Yes, I know, it’s a recommendation, not an award. Full disclosure: Sarah and I both used to be on the LBC committee before we became ‘Cats.
