13-year-old cat Scout (named after the young heroine in To Kill a Mockingbird) likes to snuggle under the Christmas tree with the presents, reports novelist Judy Merrill Larsen, "because she can drink fresh water out of the tree stand, but also because she's sleeping on top of the heat register." (And, she adds, the 4 year-old golden retriever can't get at Scout when she's there.)

Meanwhile, Stormy Roy Anne Weatherly "has always known she looks good on red," says librarian-blogger Lesa Holstine, "so she loves the Christmas decorations."
