Longlist Announced for Best Business Book of 2010

FT.JPGThe Financial Times and Goldman Sachs announced the longlist for the 2010 Business Book of the Year–the award carries a £30,000 prize.

The purpose behind the award is to give recognition to business books published within the last year which spotlight current, important, business issues in a fascinating, yet enjoyable manner. To qualify, publications would have to have been released between Halloween Day 2009 and the 15th of November this year.

Read the complete longlist here. Some of the titles included on the longlist are The Art of Choosing by Sheena Iyengar, Too Big to Fail by Andrew Ross Sorkin, The Facebook Effect by David Kirkpatrick, More Money than God by Sebastian Mallaby, and The Rational Optimist by Matt Ridley.

Here’s more from the release: “A shortlist of up to six books determined by this year’s Award judging panel will be announced on 16th September. The overall winner of the 2010 Book Award will be announced at the Award Dinner in New York on 27th October 2010. The winning author will receive £30,000 and the other shortlisted authors will each receive £10,000, an increase of £5,000 over previous years.”
