Longoria’s book deal: not so fast

When reports began to circulate that DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star Eva Longoria had inked a deal to write an erotic novel, my bullshit detector started humming bigtime. Because if, in fact, she had inked some sort of deal, then why was the publisher not named? Why was there no literary agent of record?

As it happens, a phone call to Longoria’s publicist, Liza Anderson, cleared up the issue. “She’s not writing a book of any sort,” said Anderson’s assistant when reached this afternoon. “Reports are completely untrue.” Nice to know my bullshit detector isn’t completely off-base…
