Madison Square Park Turns Literary

Starting tonight, the Madison Square Park Conservancy is launching a summer reading series that will bring authors into the park (bordering Madison Avenue between 23rd and 26th) every Thursday night for the next few weeks. Granted, we’re a little late on the ball informing you about tonight’s centennial tribute to architect Stanford White, where White’s great-granddaughter, Suzannah Lessard, is sharing the mike with Paula Uruburu, the biographer of Evelyn Nesbit (and Ragtime fans can explain the significance of that pairing to readers who don’t get it). But you can start making plans now for baseball night with Lawrence Hogan (no relation) and Roger Kahn, or brace yourself for the Molly O’Neill/Gael Greene showdown, and bring your dogs to hang out at the Amy Hempel reading that will close the series in early August.
